Adaptive Horse Riding : Facilities for Adaptive Horse Riding

October 25, 2019

My name’s Raeshell Sorensen. I’m the equestrian
program manager here at the National Ability Center. Here at the equestrian program we
have this seventeen thousand square foot arena that is heated, that allows us to offer lessons
year round. We also have an outdoor arena, that allows us to offer more lessons in the
summer. We have a trail system outside so we can take trail rides with our riders. Here
at the National Ability Center we are out in the country, where there aren’t a lot of
busy roads or buildings nearby. This allows us to privacy our riding lessons, so not a
lot of noise or horn honking. And that’s important to us so the horses are safe in their lessons.
Our horses also are well trained and very, we have a long process of going through in
selecting the horses that will be ridden here. They’re very safe horses that allow us to
do what we do.
