Cute Pygmy Shetland Ponies!

November 19, 2019

LUCY: Hi, I’m Lucy. This is Misty Meadow
Farm in Kent. Let me show you our ponies. This is Olivia. She’s nine years old. She’s my best friend really. She’s really sweet. But she’s very quiet. Olivia’s favorite food
is probably things like carrots, apples. But she is actually on
a restricted diet. She has a mask that she
wears when she goes out during the day. Because she’ll just pig. INTERVIEWER: Why do you
like Shetland ponies? LUCY: Their size. They’re very cute, and they’re
very friendly. Ah, she’s with the dog. Shetlands tend to be a very
piggy breed of pony. And we do things like jumping
with her to help her basically keep the weight off. Good girl. This is Olivia’s passport. All ponies basically have to
have a passport which will record any injections that
they’ve ever had. And also it will show their
family tree, so that when you buy them you know where they’ve
come from, what their background is. Olivia’s father is called
Toy House Mousie Prince John of Lancaster. And her mother is called
Copperfield’s Betty Boop. She’s friends with a lot
of ponies in her field. She probably has a special mate
that she hangs out with. They tend to, like, have
a best friend each. This here is Julianne. She’s pretty much, I would say,
one of the naughtiest ones that we’ve got here. And she’s actually
wearing a muzzle. Because she’s got a lot of
weight on her at the moment. And the best way to keep it
off is to have this muzzle thing on her. But it’s actually the first
day she’s worn it. And she hates it. We’ve had a bit of an issue with
the fencing over there which we’ve sort of
had to put up a makeshift sort of barricade. Well basically we turned up one
day and found that Olivia and Julianne had got in there. And they were scrumping away
on all the apples. Some Shetland ponies
actually don’t care about electric fencing. And they are happy to take the
shock, basically, just to get to the grass that’s on the
other side of the fence. So the darker colored
pony that’s closest to us at the moment– she’s called Tia. And her little foal
is called Morgan. He’s a boy. He’s only a week old. And then the other one over
there– she’s called Holly. That’s her daughter, who
was also born last week, called Hannah. Yeah, they’re so fluffy
at this age– fluffy and tiny. INTERVIEWER: Would you
say that you’re quite good friends now? LUCY: Yeah, yeah, she is. She’s my little girl. She’s my little pony. I love her.

  3. Beautiful little ponies!Β  I'm not a huge pony guy, but these guys and gals were too cute.Β  To the Bronies and all that, fuck off.Β  No one gives a shit about your retarded thoughts.Β  (I'm looking at youThoreau Kilbourne)

  4. Her parents have the most ridiculous names ever. No wonder their daughter grew up and did nothing with her life but wear a muzzle and have someone guiding her around by a rope

  5. Thrilled to see Olivia. I had a Sandy who looked exactly the same. Had no information about him i.e. where he was bred or parentage. who or what were his parents, have you any ideas about Olivia? Sadly he also lived in a muzzle and wore paddock boots because of Laminitis. One person who had similar ponies thought they had been bred for and then abandoned through the exotic pet trade?

  6. just gone back and heard about Olivias family tree and seen the foals. so sweet. Sandy was 38" and along with the others I found were in their 20's so I don't think I'm ever going to find out about them. Been in touch with all the studs who were breeding coloured ponies in 1983 but nobody recognised him.

  7. pleased to see my boy wasn result of careful breeding and probably registered with the Shetland Society. Perhaps they will know who he was.

  8. i have one shetland pony which was reacued from a slughter house. he is called yogi bear or yogi for short
    and is black

  9. πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ΄πŸ΄πŸ΄πŸ΄β€β€β€β€πŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽπŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡ omg 😍😍😍

  10. I have a miniature pony named Haven who you can ride on with a saddle and can pull her on a cart and do you know any kids that want a nice safe Little pony, she is black

  11. The regular sized Shetlands with good conformation and good, normal-length legs are much cuter. Some of these little "mini" horses look deformed. It can get really extreme. I don't know why people think it's cute.

  12. How cute! There's a pony in my riding school named Anthem and he is so cute and tiny! He always tries to stick his head over the gate to say hello!

  13. I guess ponies got their surename from their mother, like miss Copperfields here. Explains why Twilight Velvet named her daughter Twilight Sparkle.

  14. I have got five πŸ˜€ – a female pinto called Ilaria (7yrs)- a dark brown female called Royal (my favourite ;P)(3yrs)- a palimino female called CremΓ¨ (11yrs)- a black male called Pepsi (13yrs)- a white stallion called Mint (10 months)We are a big herd πŸ˜€

  15. not really ethical. this type of breeding can cause all sorts of health problems. just like with brachycephalic dogs like pugs or bulldogs. I hate to be the mood-ruiner but it's the truth.

  16. it's always good to stumble on old vice videos. funny how people assumed they, at one point ONLY covered syria and war, but never did stories on trans people, how fun weed is or random cute stuff.

  18. OMG MAYBE I GET A SHETLAND AT SCHOOL BECAUSE WE HAVE 2 DONKEYS and one is sick so they’re at the hospital both ( because the other will Get crazy if he’s alone ) so if they maybe die 😭😭😭 MAYBE we’ll Get a shetland πŸ’› But hope for the donkeys πŸ’žπŸ’ž

  19. People keep breeding them but do you know what happens when kids get to old for their ponies? Over breeding because they are cute is cruel and stupid.

  20. So beautiful so sweet great video I love, all,of,them πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜™πŸ’™

  21. So beautiful so sweet great video I love they, are, beautiful, and, there, Too πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜™πŸ’œπŸ’œ
