Winged Hussars / Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth & Traditional War Song

August 15, 2019

Oh, dear rowan tree, where have you been growing in the midst of the swamps? Ei ei ajajaj in the midst of the swamps? Where have you been growing in the midst of the swamps, in the green moss? Ei ei ajajaj in the green moss? Oh, dear mother, what have you raised me up for? Ei ei ajajaj what have you raised me up for? What have you raised me up for and conscripted me to a war? Ei ei ajajaj and conscripted me to a war? Conscripted me to a war and have forged me three trumpets? Ei ei ajajaj and have forged me three trumpets? He trumpeted the first trumpet as he was riding off from the inner yard Ei ei ajajaj as he was riding off from the inner yard He trumpeted the second trumpet as he was riding off from the outer yard Ei ei ajajaj as he was riding off from the outer yard He trumpeted the third trumpet as he was joining the troops Ei ei ajajaj as he was joining the troops My horse pranced and all the troops looked at me Ei ei ajajaj all the troops looked at me And all the army had turned to me Ei ei ajajaj, the army to me And a troop of Swedes has come, a troop of brave ones Ei ei ajajaj a troop of brave Swedes When we’ve stood in the field, we’ve knocked all the Swedes out Ei ei ajajaj we’ve knocked all the Swedes out Our Chodkewicz was very strong, he was a real king Ei ei ajajaj he was a real king!

  3. A thank you to these brave Lithuanian and Polish warriors for saving Europe from the Ottoman hordes. Their bravery will never be forgotten while their are free men and women in Europe.

  4. Polak, Węgier, dwa bratanki, i do szabli, i do szklanki! – Greetings from Hungary to our Lithuanian brothers too 🙂

  5. What is the name of the movie in the background? Great song by the way! Greetings from Serbia! 😀

  6. Polish, Baltic, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Slovenian, Croatian… Hell, there was a wall whitout a wall.

  7. I'm an American of Anglo Saxon, Lower Saxon and Elsass German descent. This song still stirs up my European warrior spirit. The Army gave me the skills. Our ancestors give me the strength and courage.

Brothers, we know we are in a dark age. We know what is right and wrong. We need to stand our ground and fight.

  8. Back when Poland wasn't full of racist uneducated nationalists who make enemies of even their most important allies…

  10. Litwa bardzo mało wystawiała huzarzy. Bo byli za biedni! Wyposażenie JEDNEGO Husara kosztowało kilka wsi! Litwinów nie było na to stać
! Husarz miał na sobie drogą, ciężką zbroję. Nawet konie były uzbrojone! Miał lancę, halabardę, hełm, dwa miecze, szablę, wielki ryngraf na piersi, często też pistolet! To było okropnie UZBROJONE wojsko! I jeszcze psychologicznie rozwalali wroga!

  11. Şarkıyı ezberledim aq, söyleye söyleye kendimi hipnoz ettim. Türkçüyüm ama Musu Katkus kimse arkasından savaşa giderim.

  12. Haha what a nice comment section ! Tbf in Lithuania a lot of ppl think we are the closest with Latvians because of language but mentality and cultural wise we are definitely the closest with Polish ! I hope our governments will forge a new, stronger than before alliance again ! We need to stay together to beat vatniks (Merkelreich and Putin nazis) who are forging a new Ribentrop Molotov pact with Nord stream 2 !

  15. Poles are the most respected oppenent in Turkish history. This tradition cames from asian steppes that the respect can only earn by real soldiers. So after 400 years of Vienna, today we still like Poles, honorable warriors, and we still hate arabs, fucking traitors(ww1)

  16. Looks fine but winged hussars have always used lances, not only sabers as in some of these scenes. And first all, they weren't used to besiege and conquer the cities (because such scene appeared in one Russian film, I guess the director had taken a nap during the history classes in school). Winged hussars were to smash the infantry in the open battlefield.
